oops, my bad. i guess i got the wrong information. thank you for the clarification, supportmaoasada.

I hope Mao has the time and space to cry her heart out and to reflect everything there is in her mind on her mother. I also hope she finds some sense of security from those around her. I will continue to support her, commiserate with her, and earnestly put her and her family in my prayer.

Oh my.

This is a really really REALLY SAD moment for many people... I suppose this should remind everyone that life sends us the most difficult challenges right when we're not expecting it. While Mao definitely showed strength of character with her decision to withdraw from a very important competition to be with her mama [may you rest in peace, Mrs. Asada], I pray for the Asada family [that they be at peace, and be able to move forward] and for all the competitors in the GPF [may all do their very best!].

I know not all of you are Christians, but I'd like to share this verse since it seems like it fits the situation. Matthew 5:4 "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."

I love that quote, and welcome to the forum!

I'm really sad for Mao right now. I don't even know what to say except that my sympathy goes to her and her family right now.

I don't know what to feel... I'm just updating myself with what happened because I am much too affected by what happened... So I don't have the heart to actively support anyone in this competition. I'm sorry. Depressed Crying

Anyway, I was touched when Kostner cried when she heard about Mao's sorrows. And Liza... I didn't know she lost her father this year! What a tragic thing to happen!

I still find it hard to grasp what has happened to Mao, everything just happened soo fast, I just can't help but wonder for how long Mao has been suffering and thinking that she could lose her mother anytime... just thinking about how it most feel, when people tell you tat you're other could die at any moment, it really no wonder that Mao has been losing weight at worlds!

I really am so worried about Mao's condition right now, especially since she ad her mom and such a strong bond to each other!

Personally I find Caro's pcs to high, but she deservedly won.

MaoChan756 I don't understand Caro's score either. Well, we do know judges love her...

Ok, this is getting RIDICULOUS! Patty steped out of his first 4t, put a hand down on his second 4t and steped out of following 2t, FELL on a jump and he doubled the 3A and still he scored HIGHER than Dai?! Very Mad I mean, am I stupid? How is that possible?!!! i don't see it.

OMG, Dai was amazing! Dance This program is amazing. And Hanyu Wub

The protocol

Evil or Very Mad Rolling Eyes at Patty's score

It's of course my fault for even bothering to keep the icenetwork stream after Jeremy skated because goodness knows Patrick is the second coming of Yagudin+Plushy combined as one and/or Jesus and deserves highest PCS every single competition regardless of the content he displayed. I love COP and programs packed with transitions just for the sake of transitions and appealing to the judges that is "so difficult and impressive" to the point where the second-coming of Jesus isn't even capable of skating remotely cleanly. /end rant

Congrats to Dai, Javier, and Yuzuru. Also, belated congrats to CaroK, Akiko, and Alena for the ladies.

yeah and i thought patty did exceptionally bad today.. =__= i mean individually some of his elements were excellent, i saw those spins and those jumps were just top notch but the program felt extremely disjointed today.... he at least shouldve had a a lower fs score even if not overall imo. i mean they explained how he had 2 quads and stuff, but I was watching it on Universal Sports and I'm glad to see Michael Weiss disagreeing with the program component scores too. And Patrick always shrugs after he gets his scores as if he doesn't understand why he's scoring so high too =__= see even he's astounded... reminds me of Yuna Kim shrugging at her scores back in the 09-10 GP season...

Yep, I knew this is going to happen, but I was hoping they'll at least score him lower than Dai. he received higher mark for choreography and interpretation than Dai Shocked Hello?! Judges please get some glasses!

ROTFLMAO Thumbs up! at your rant. Couldn't agree more!

I just saw the protocols but haven't seen the videos yet. Some moron gave Dai a 5.50 in transitions and a 6.75 in choreography. WTH, somebody doesn't want Dai to win. Yuzuru doesn't even have any PCS mark lower than 6.75.

OTOH, I'm glad Dai, Yuzuru and Akiko gave their best. Can't wait to see the videos.

Shocked WOW! Are you kidding me?! I only looked at final scores. I wouldn't be surprised if this genius was a canadian. Suspect
Like I said ridiculous. I hate it, that judging is anonymous, this way, judges can score what they want without worrying.

I felt the same. Caro has a nice LP, but a SB? I found it hard to believe. Her transition is rather weak; her performance, though good, is tentative at least for the first half; her choreography is not as sophisticated and tight as Akiko's.

Patrick deserves to win since he has a better SP. But at least, Dai should have the highest LP score. The 5.5 and 6.75 are just wrong. Dai's transition is smooth as silk, and the choreography is full of flares! I love it.

I thought I was blind or something when saw it Suspect Eh, excuse me? 5.50? Give me a break, I don't know how high Patty's PCs would be if he only will go to lie on the ice, 80? Sleep Neutral

Agree, and I loved it how british comentators couldn't stop gushing about Dai's performance during the medal ceremony. They absolutely loved it, to them it was the highlight of the evening.

And I'm so happy for Javi Wub He was adorable on the podium, he looked so happy.

My parents were sleeping, it was about 2:00 am in Russia, after Dai's FS I was clapping like crazy, but during Yuzuru's performance I jumped up from my chair(completely forgot about my cat sleeping at my knees), and then epic fail, I fell, my cat jumped to the table, dropped down the lamp, books and fell out of the table. You can imagine what my parents said me after that, that was very nice to hear Razz
