Welcome l-spiralmao and AmazingGraceMao! Razz

I'm sorry but I didn't mean to upset anyone with my post. I just wanted to express my thought ... I'll do my best to write more carefully. Sorry pochi for getting involved you and thank you so much for your kindness.

Thank you fgr8sktrfn for your input.

re. sports psychologist. When Mao was asked a question about mental control, she answered she read books on sports psychology. IIRC, it was in the pre-Vancouver season and I felt books were not enough because mental was apparently an issue with her back then. I hope the experience in FS at NHK will prompt her to find one. As you say, it wouldnít hurt.

re. jump coach. Wasnít it Mr. Nagakubo who said Mr. Sato didnít want to work with him together for Mao because their approaches were totally different? While Nagakubo wanted to do a drastic form change, Sato wanted to tweak little by little to correct her lutz. I agree Takeshi could be a great jump coach for Mao, but I heard Takeshi declined to be her jump coach because he thought the burden was too big for him. Iím sorry I donít have a source for it but I think I read about it somewhere. I can understand him. Itís a huge responsibility for a coach to help correct jumps of OSM and two time world champion skater and people's expectations are really heavy.

I wonder who Mao worked with when she was away from Mr. Sato for three months. As Mao said, she took two-week break for the first time in her career and she was in Hungary for ballet and skating training. I assume in the rest of the time she trained at Chukyo and practiced jumps too. Mr Kozuka and coaches from Chukyo? Now Mao has got a leave from her uni, I think she can move to Yokohama and stay there. Shin-Yokohama is the rink where Shizuka practices isnít it? If so, I wonder if she can be for jump coach. I know she is very busy and may not want to coach her. She does gorgeous jumps at shows even now. Also she can be a good mentor to her as a former female competitive skater. Smile (and yes, Kumiko Sato was her coach too when Shizuka won OGM.)

re. Yukina. She's a beautiful skater. I was surprised for joy and thrilled when I saw her first time that finally, finally there came a Japanese figure skater who skated like ballerina on ice. I love her layback ina-bauer and Turandot too.

Sorry I don't have enough time now to translate everything though.
Mao and Akiko were asked how they think about each other.
Their answers were coincidentally the same.
After competitions they give encouragement each other saying let do our best again or at finals so on.
They share the rink at Chukyo on weekends and Mao says seeing Akiko working hard encourages her and she tempted to work much harder and so said Akiko.
They are inspiring each other as the announcer said. Very Happy

let`s talk wrote:

You forgot to mention Dai's reaction on Mao's FS, at around 8:46 and especially at 8.55 when he touched his heart as a sing of relief after Mao did her combo, and Mao reaction when she saw that video of Dai. She was a kind of shy and happy to see how he supported her. So lovely! He was also very suppotive to her yesterday during the medal ceremony and before that when Mao was like with a funeral face. Mao did very great EX after that, even though she still looks really upset. Go, Mao-chan! Cheering

I loved this video! Dai is such a sweet person! And Mao's reaction is just adorable!

I want to download the vid, but the link is now failed, says it is private. Sad

does anyone has extra links?

And btw, thank you guys for the welcome messages, you are so sweet... Love Hearts

Umm...I just hope that Mao isn't deliberately low-balled in PCS in the Grand Prix Final as a response from the judges because of the comments from people online and commentators after this competition.

That would be a disaster, and would not be fair.

I doubt this will happen, if the judges and ISU actually cared what others are saying, we'd have different men's world champion in 2012 and as many have pointed it out in the past, TES and PCS are judged separately, so I don't see why people would have a probelm with her PCS.
I actually agree with Mao's PCS she got here, because this program is trully great and even with mistakes Mao kept performing, the only part of the PCS that should get affected by her NHK performance is the execution.

When she'll skate the Swan Lake cleanly and with a bit more difficulty her PCS should easily go up to 68, imo.

I can't find the medal ceremony either. Strange...

It will be quite interesting to see how much PCS Kim will get and how she'll compete against Wagner, Mao and all other young skaters. ISU might make adjustements after seeing her skate in december.

Short interview in Russian of Lisa's coach Mishin about Lisa's participation in GPF: http://www.rsport.ru/figure_skating/20121126/632822063.html

I post it here since he made a comment about Mao's win: "It is hard to compete when, for example, a Japanese athlete Mao Asada did two triples in her free skate and still received high scores and finished first ... The components score often reflects not what happened on the ice, but how long one's career is. This situation worries me a little."

Disappointed

Well at first she did 3triples and two of them in combination. But it's Mishin, nothing new. I thought he could said it much worse.

For the record, Mao did 3 triples in FS, not two. And this is only a freaking GP event with the home advantage. If anyone recalls, yuna also won with 3 triples in 2009 SA beating Flatt who did 7 triples due to her huge lead in SP. It is not like this is the first time it is happening. The system is known to be flawed for a long time. I just hope Mao would come out with a strong performance in GPF to shut those voices up.

Not defending Mishin in any way but he noticed it's system that needs a rework, cause sometimes it not working,so he not talking about how not fair it was.
