Wow, so much feathers... Neutral I liked the old one better. I wish she'd look at Sasha's Swan Lake costumes, I liked them, they were elegant and featherless.

I don't like feathers on her wrists, but then it's just pictures, maybe during actual skating, it will look amazing.

Mao please change the SP costume as well!

Yep, I liked the first one for its simplicity but I also like the new one. At least it doesn't have as much feathers as I was afraid of. Very Happy

Here's her practice clip with this costume and her 3A and 3F+3Lo.

Both the 3A and the 3Loop would get an "<" I am afraid. Maybe the 3A was close but the loop was clearly Ured
At least her flip looked rotated.

Oh crap, I haven't thought of this. That's a 1 point deduction if it happens, right? Now I hate feathers even more. They better used a super glue or something, so they'll stay on the costume. Yep!

Too bad she isn't using any black colour as well, after all there is a section of music from the black swan (Odile) pas de deux.

Personally, I don't like that rule. I think there should be a deduction only if the skater forgets to pick up whatever he/she dropped before leaving the ice.

I thought 1 point deduction rule for a falling feather is a joke. Never thought it is really a rule. Shocked

Actually you get 1 point deduction for ANYTHING that falls off; a hair pin, hair decoration, stuff from costume... though, I think the judges have to notice it, for this to count.

It's nice to see Europsort showing EVERYONE, even those guys who aren't very good. Yep!

I'm hoping for Yuzu's win, with Dai in 2nd and Ross Miner in 3rd. cheers My dream podium. Swoon

It would suck, but rules are rules.

Kanako got penalized at one of her competitions (in Japan) this season, after her glove fell off her arm.

I'm hoping Yuzu and Dai have a great showdown and whoever wins, the difference will be small but fair: no more discussions on who should have won. After Javier's amazing competition at Euros it would be nice to see the response from the Japanese men, just as good or even better! Imagine a certain skater shaking in his boots going to Worlds after great skating from the Jap men here aand Javier at Euros Twisted Evil

Wait........ I remember in 2010 Worlds during the FS of Mao one of her black feathers fell off! Even the commentators acknowledged it! She didn't seem to get a deduction for that.

A dropped feather can be seen in 4:03. It was during her step sequence. The commentators in this video didn't say anything though. I think it was a male commentator who said something about it.

well...that's why she wants to give the new costume a test and make sure nothing is falling before the actual game! Wink
(But to watch Mao in the feather costume to jump a 3A...it's amazing! Many Hearts )

What the hell, Nan Song is BEHIND Dornbush?!!! Are these judges stoned or something? Unbelievable. Evil or Very Mad Suspect

IMO, so far he was the best, hopefully he'll kick major butt tomorrow. Rockstar

By the ISU rules you get penalized, but like I said, I think the judges or whoever is responsible for penalizing has to notice it. Spotting a falling feather during actual skate is difficult. I don't know though, how recent this rule is...

Yep, unless we're back to "it doesn't matter how bad he skates, he'll still get incredible score". Rolling Eyes But to be honest, this is going to be very hard to pull off without a major scandal, if Javi, Dai and Yuzu keep producing such amazing skating. Wub

Go Yuzu!!! And Dai, Yep! though seeing Kolya next to him is really annoying.

It's ok, zarinaballerina. Our aristocratic Dai needs his valet. Laughing
