So, if the 3A is the first jump and the 3-3 the second, where will the 3Lo be? I hope a 3Lo+2Lo+2Lo replaces the 3F+2Lo+2Lo and that there will be a solo 3F at the end of the program...

I think it will be: 3A, 3F-3L, 3L, 3Lz, 2A-3T, 3S, 3F-2L-2L.

I like Mao's 3L-2L-2L, but it would be difficult to stick it in the place of 3F-2L-2L (due to the preceding steps and the timing to the music) and there really isn't any place for a solo 3F after that, there's barely enough time for a spin, StSq and ChSq.

Plus, I really like the way the toe assist of 3F and the landing of every part of the combination lands perfectly on the music. As Tracy said, "delightful!". Laugh And while 3F-2L-2L might be a bit riskier than 3L-2L-2L, I think it would be even more risky to change so much of the choreo so late in the season.

i was at the men's practice in the morning Smile yuzuru, javier, and patrick didn't come perhaps because they train nearby so they want to stay at their home rink just a bit more. Daisuke was very effortless across the ice and his step sequence is as always stunning but he didn't do much jumping. takahito jumped a lot more and looked really fearless going for speed and choreography. he had a bad fall in the middle of the session but otherwise he seemed relatively stable. amodio was amazing the running edge out of his jumps is quite something Shocked the ladies' practice is tonight and i'll try to catch most of it, i'll of course keep an eye out for mao if she shows up and yuna but other than that, any one got any special requests for some sort of report?

Thanks for the report, princessinpink! cheers

Any interesting tidbits are welcome! Smile Your eyes will probably be "busy" with the top skaters, but if you happen to notice how Elene Gedevanishvili will be doing in practice, jumps-wise, I'd love a short report Smile (If she shows up today that is! Wink )

Some reports from GS & twitter:
- Mao wasn't there yet,
- Akiko - clean SP run-through
- Kanako - FS run-through, but without jumps,
- YuNa - popped some jumps, but did a clean FS run-through with 3Lz-3T,
- Adelina - tried 3Lz-3T-3L!!! Sadly fell on the loop, but still very cool Smile

Lucky you, for me the ladies LP starts at midnight. I'm really hoping that I'll be waking up all the neighbours from screams of happiness on the night of LP, because Mao will do amazingly well. Worship Though I'm not so sure how the neighbours would/will feel about it... Hell, no!

I think Mao will start the practice tomorrow. I've seen the practice clip of Yuna, I'm still not a fan of her program, I wish David (since there's no way she'll go to someone else) would come up with something new, other then sexy and drama. She does look good though, we'll see how she does on a competitiom days. The tech pannel has been announced, no Amano! cheers Dance Boogie
http://www.isuresults.com/results/wc2013/SEG003OF.HTM

Two of the ladies from the tech panel are said to be at NRW trophy, how was the judging there? I don't remember anything other than ridiculous PCS from Yuna, but this is not in the tech panel domain.

Anyway, go Mao! Woot! if she's trully in the top shape, we'll see some amazing things from her.

I can't believe Adelina did that combo! affraid I hope she won't do it in competition, a fall can cost her everything. Besides, the tech panel just loooves to downgrade 3Lo. Rolling Eyes Mad

Oh crap I've just looked for Eurosport International broadcast, the good news is that they'll show ladies SP but so far nothing else. affraid The schedule on internet is only until thursday, so i hope they'll show more on friday and saturday. pale

This has to be a joke if it's true, I mean they show a crappy Europeans broadcast, great 4CC, great jr. worlds, but for now a crappy senior worlds?!!! Are they stoned or something?!!! Evil or Very Mad

I just hope the live feed from British europsort will be of much better quality this time around, otherwise I'm screwed. Bawling

Yep we're both in CET zone, I'm from Slovenia. That's great if they'll show the ladies LP live, i wasn't on their page, but on slovenian tv schedule page. Again, slovenian TV (which in the past showed alomst everything live) doesn't bother with broadcasting except for ice dance ( I guess no skiing, nordic or skii jumping at that time... Rolling Eyes Mad ) I'm so pissed right now.

oh and more good news, according to golden skate; Lisa Ervin (asst. tech specialist) is notorious for downgrading and bestowing edge calls to skaters. she better not downgrade anything that doesn't trully deserve to be downgraded when it comes to Mao. Escape

come on zarinna, we just have to keep faith in Mao,remember the tech in 4CC was also a really really strict one, but that didn't prevent Mao from succeeding on the 3A in the sp, I'm sure that Mao is going to be well prepared and in good condition, if only she would arrive soon, I have been eagerly waiting all day to see some practice clips of her.

Yeah, I guess I'm a little depressed right now, so I see everything in a pessimistic way. it's just when I remember back to 2009-2011 seasons and all the overscoring of certain skaters and underscoring of some others, I temporarely loose optimism. I think this'll change once I see Mao on practice ice. Very Happy

I'll be proud of Mao no matter what happens, but I honestly want her to win this so badly, after everything she's been through the past few seasons, she deserves to have a perfect season. Wub Go Mao. Love Hearts

Did she gain the reputation for being strict recently? I watched the protocols from some old competitions she was a TC in (CoC 2006, EC 2008, etc), but it seems the juding was fairly lenient. There weren't that many downgrades, and Brian didn't get an 'e' for his Flip, although he's known for being a lipper. The only downgraded jumps - like Yukari's 3Lz - were really underrotated.

I couldn't find any recent competitions where Lisa would be on the technical panel - perhaps she's been judging in junior/novices and/or local competitions recently? That would explain "strict" judging - I'd asume young or non-elite skaters would have much more troubles with their jumps than elite skaters at GP/Worlds and the protocols would be littered with URs and edge calls... Sweatdrop

I wouldn't panic yet. Smile

I really feel the same way, and now that you mention overscoring certain skaters, getting to know that some of the judges who where at NRW are at worlds makes me remember the goe issue, they really goe happy at that competition, hope we won't see a repeat of that.

oh thanx for clarifying inskate! I have no idea who this woman is, like I said a poster at Golden Skate mentioned that she's known to be very strict. i prefer your explanation though. Wink Yep!

IMO, as long as they're consistent in giving away goe and PCS to everyone, I don't have a problem. that being said, I do hope we won't see a PCS of 35 in the SP and 75 in the LP when it comes to Yuna. That was ridiculous even for a B international.

That was at Korean Nationals Smile Yuna got 34.85 & 69.52 at NRW Trophy, high, but Mao got 33.86 for her SP at 4CC (where the scores weren't that generous) and Caro 34.60 for SP at Challenge Cup & 70.28 for her LP at Euros, so they are within striking distance... And of course Senior Bs were a bit generous this season and the elite skaters competing there had the advantage of being crème de la crème, so to speak. It will be interesting to see what will the judges do now that the world's best will go head-to-head.

i was at the practice rink this night for the ladies - not too many of them showed up. I'll list the people who did come and might be of interest:
Gracie Gold - she skated beautifully, smoothing and very fast. her opening triple lutz-triple toe is very stable and she is now putting her hands up in the air for her second triple. she looked truly delightful and fabulous.
Kanako Murakami - good run through of sp, nearly td on 3T-3T. she had a bit of trouble with her 3T-3T al throughout as well as the 3S-2A she keeps singling the axel. she wasn't very fast or energetic until the music came on. i don't feel too worried about her attending all these practices because once her music came on she was a different person
Akiko Suzuki - did run through of LP without jumps and later landed a bunch of great jumps including a 3L-3T i believe
Li Zijun - fell on her 3F in opening triple triple but later landed great 2A-3T and a great 3S-2T-2L. She looks much faster and her edges seem deeper as well so i expect better PCS for her in this competition. i really hope this is her breakout season!
Yuna didn't show and neither did Mao. Btw there is live stream of the practices at skatebuzz so you can look for that tomorrow!

Thanks princessinpink, I can't wait to see how well Mao does during practice within the next few days. I hope she stays calm, strong, and focused while she's competing, and then she will be unbeatable. Go Mao!! cheers
