...and switches to Viktor Petrenko and Galina Zmievskaya!

Stephane said that it was a hard decision. He and Peter Gruetter are still on good terms, Stephane just wanted a new challenge.

It's surprising for me to hear, because Viktor and his mother Galina Zmievskaya are currently working with Johnny Weir. WOW!

So many male skaters are switching coaches/choreographers this off-season!! Whirly

Another article:

They get a few things wrong(like, Nobu did not permamently move to NJ, he's in Japan now... And Stephane isn't 2007 World silver medalist, Daisuke is Laughing ), but hopefully get the rest right Laughing

And it turns out that Johnny had no idea that his coaches plan on taking on another student! WOW!

Thankfully, his reaction seems to be rather calm:

Quote :
Heís a good guy, a great skater, and I think he can do great things for the Ice Vault rink and for my coaching team.Ē
(...)
Weir admits things could become too cozy for comfort once the competitive season gets underway. ďI havenít personally decided if it will be beneficial for me to train with another elite skater," he said. "We both want to be the next Olympic champion, and to do that, it will be a fight for all of the titles until Vancouver. To have a rival training next to me, on the ice doing run-throughs, observing every move I make is something I havenít experienced and until I do, I cannot know whether Iíll like it or I wonít. But, I hope this arrangement can push us both to work hard and conquer the world.Ē

What a dramatic off-season we have! Unconscious

If there are no any personal issues between both of them, I think they will only benefit from this "collaboration".
