I'm surprised is this close, but maybe they're trying to hype up the ratings...Mao without the DG would probably be around 75+...possibly 77 with added PCS.

Yay for Mao and Yukari! Confetti

I am surprised it's that close though, even with a downgrade...but it's true her components would probably go up as well if she'd rotated the 3A, since they're always higher with higher technical scores... That's a part of the scoring system I don't necessarily agree with, though it probably happened in the 6.0 system as well. Razz

Miki skating now. Good luck!

3Lz-2Lo, 3F, 2A - all clean.
Pretty sure Morozov made Miki stick with the 3-2 since Mao's 3A wasn't ratified (I'm suspecting Kanako's 3T-3T also got the boot). study

ETA: Miki in third with 68.68!

Congrats to all the ladies! Thumbs up!

I thought Miki will go in 1st, but she possibly lost some levels on spins (especially layback) whereas Yukari usually gets all lvl4 with lots of GoEs.

The scoring was much more sensible today. LP will be a nailbitter.

10 Mutsumi TAKAYAMA 54.92 31.68 23.24 0.00 #7
Very close race amongst the top 4 girls - also, the Top 5 are all Aichi (Nagoya) girls! Many Hearts
I have to say that Fumie's TES is a bit puzzling, especially since there were so many clean performances tonight...but I'll reserve judgment until after the TV broadcast. Yep!

ETA: Unofficial Results Page for the Men's FS -
http://deepedge.m3.coreserver.jp/or/2009_M_fs_e.html
I'll probably be glued to the FujiTV broadcast so I won't be able to copy-pasta the PBP from the Live Commentary Thread. My apologies. Unconscious

ETA2: I'll throw in Yuzuru's jumps in his free skate. Laugh
3A、2Lz、3F、2Lo、3A+3T+2Lo、3Lz+2T、3S+2T、2A
Not bad at all. Good job Yuzuru!

137.23 in the FS! Yuzuru should stay in first for the next couple of skaters... Too sweet!

Mao, just be pissed that you got a DG today and go out and KILL it tomorrow. And then your scores will go through the roof!! Fingers crossed for 140 points!! Very Happy

Tono's FS Score - 164.70 (TES: 85.00 PCS: 80.70)
He had a fall on the opening quad, but landed everything else - 8 triples and a 2A and is deservedly in first! Boogie

Let's see how this will turn out!

Nobunari: 164.70, currently in 1st

Fall on (rotated) 4T, but 2 3A and 2 3-3 (one was 3A-3T). Considering how inflated the scores were for the top skater yesterday, this was a very conservative score (unless Nobu missed some levels).

But HUGE congrats on keeping his nerves together after the missed quad! Daisies for you Reportedly the whole arena clapped along with the step sequences. Smile And someone called Nobu "Chaplin". Laugh

ETA: clovera was faster! Smile

Kozu doubled 3F, had a shaky landing on 3L, popped 2A and wasn't perfect in the steps - and got 155.59?

They really don't want Nobunari to win, do they... Suspect
