So then i guess the Shizuka Arakawa rumors are dead, yes? Rolling Eyes

My Mao doesn't need a coach, she is perfectly capable of winning Worlds herself this season! Woot!

Ok but seriously Neutral the whole coaching situation has got me on edge, i'm hoping that an adequate replacement is found soon silent

Yes, I hope Mao decides on a coach soon! Not that I doubt Mao's ability to practice on her own (I mean, come on, we're talking about the girl who won two Worlds without her main coach by the sideboards), but the beginning of the season is such a hectic time with choreography, music choices etc., so I really want Mao to have all the support she needs!

Sorry for double-posting, but I was wondering which issue of Vogue Nippon does Mao appear in? I'm not usually one for buying fashion magazines, so without knowing what the cover looks like, I was quite bewildered when I checked the foreign magazines section today Razz

Chineseteacup: you can see the cover here:

http://fashiongonerogue.com/vogue-nippon-july-2010-cover-alessandra-ambrosio-inez-vinoodh/

I'm going to venture into a Japanese magazine store soon, it's going to be quite exciting. I went with my friend before b/c she was a fan of NEWS but now I have a reason to go!

I also hope that Mao gets a coach soon, but I can see what Pochi said the difficulty of it. It's a lot of pressure to take on a high level skater and considering the amount of publicity & popularity Mao has in Japan, I can see why Japanese coaches are hesitant.

After watching Emily Frankel's blog, I thought more about Mao & Tat and I am so glad that Mao went to Tat. I think that more than anything, Tat brought out the dance and ballet side of Mao with her choreography- 1st it was Fantasy, then her Tango, Masquerade, Bells, Caprices. She understood Mao was elegant, classical and brought out those wonderful balletic moves, so I can't wait to see that SP! I also wouldn't mind Mao going to Tat for one more year, but the distance thing is difficult...

Thank you so much, sapphiresky! It's quite daunting trying to find the right magazine not knowing a word of Japanese Razz

sapphiresky, chineseteacup...

All you guys who want the issue of Vogue with Mao in it, better hurry up!
As far as I've heard, in Amazon and Seven-Eleven Book Service Japan, it's all sold out already. Although there seems to be one available in Amazon Market Place, it's priced 1200yen!!!!! Shocked

Surely this is all because our dear Mao is in it! I bet Vogue Japan never had a good sell like this for a loooong time! Next thing you know, they'll probabaly start asking Dai to model for them! Laughing

Panic! Argh, with magazines, it's so much quicker to have stocks run out! I hope they'll still be there when I head for the bookstore on Tuesday!

And, yeah, I totally agree that the quick selling of this issue is due to the popularity of Mao. I would certainly seize the opportunity to own those beautiful photos... Wub

Thanks for the info, PPotanko! Thank you!

R-Really?
If SHE TRULY DID, then I hope she enjoyed her stay and had a good time.

BTW, am I the only one who thinks that the Hawaii promotional poster should be better edited? scratch

I'm hoping it's fan edited because otherwise it's pretty bad and whoever did it should not be called professional

For an amateur it's good work so i'm not saying its bad, but if someone had done it claiming to be professional then that would have been a shame Evil or Very Mad

I knew it~! Very Happy
If Mao went to Hawaii, the media would be all over it.
Anyway, the edited pic isn't that bad, but if it were real, it wouldn't do Mao any justice.
