This news is about Mao visiting Toyota city hall to meet the Mayor of Toyota.
Mao told him how she wants to improve each year so that she could be at her best in Sochi. Yep!

But I did see an article about Mao meeting the mayor! Very Happy

She talked to the mayor for about an hour and told him about winning the Olympic silver medal and World championship gold medal. She said, "I think new rivals will continue to come up/grow from below. In order to challenge myself with new skills/techniques, I'm starting all over from the beginning."

Her discussion with the mayor will be printed in a 60 year commemorative book which will be published next March.

The girl is Kotomi Yoshikawa, 11years old. Her right hand and leg are paralyzed because of the aftereffects of cerebral hemorrhage.
Her dream is to skate with Mao. She learned how wonderful to challenge something and how important to make effort from Mao.

Yay for Mao! Cheering

She should be higher on the list though. She is a far better role model than first place Erika Sawajiri. I remember Erika started out in innocent drama roles; now she's really like the Lindsay Lohan of Japan.
