THIS. Yep! I love that she said recently (after the Olympics, I think) that her favorite part of the program used to be the jumps, but that now it's the step sequence..maybe that's why hers are stunning - not only are hers intricate and so well done, but she enjoys them as well. Difficulty + fantastic technique + artistry? Killer combination. Very Happy

The 2A seemed ok, even the crowd screamed after it, but she fell suddenly. Maybe she lost balance. Gotta take a better look on the other jumps. But I loved the spins and the spiral (I hope she holds it longer in the future).

How were some ppl able to say her steps were nothing spectacular? That was amazing!!! Love Hearts I simply loved the last twizzle.

I read on YT that the show will be aired only on Sep 11th on Chinese tv. Neutral

Btw, Shen was so beautiful. Many Hearts

Just saw the videos. The ceremony was so sweet! Wub A Chinese ceremony seemed to be a lot different from the ones I've seen. It's good that he didn't trip over her dress any worse than he did! lol

I think Maos SP is going to be really great once she gets it down better! I loved the spins! Then flexibility on the first one, and the way she held it out a little extra long reminded me of how Sasha or Alissa would do that spin. As far as the step sequence goes, it was good choreography, but I'm not as in love with it as you guys seem to be yet! To me, it looked slower than her step sequences usually are, and she looked like it wasn't coming naturally to her yet. Like she was still trying to remember it all. I'm sure it will be as good as ever once it's polished though! This program in brand new. Oh, and did I mention, I LOVE this music?! The only thing this program is lacking is spirals. I can picture some really good spots for them. Stupid rules... Mad

Thank you everyone for all the links and pictures! flower And thanks to tianrushui for the reports and translations! Worship

Arrow First, I absolutely, absolutely adore the music! Love Hearts Love Hearts Por Una Cabeza was lovely, but it was a little sweeter and more charming, but I like the slightly melancholy, doomed passion feel of the Agony Tango! I've been listening to the music non-stop here. Gorgeous!

Arrow Second, like you've all said, Mao's jumps will improve with time. She always seems to have problems the first time she runs through a program, and surely, the smaller, rectangular rink and the poor lighting didn't help. I think it was smart of her to debut her program here. She'll get to do her LP at Japan Open, so that means she'll have had run-throughs of both her programs before she goes to her first competition, and hopefully that gets rid of some of the first-run jitters.

Arrow Third, as chineseteacup pointed out, Mao is clearly the queen of the step sequence! WOW! WOW! I'm not sure if she'll be able to get a Level 4 with that--there were an awful lot of twizzles and illusion spins but not too many steps that I could see--but wow, so early in the season and already she is throwing so much passion into the steps! WOW! They are going to be absolutely stunning by the end of the season! Yep! And that switch-hand catch-foot twizzle?! Who does that??!! WOW! Simply RIDICULOUS!!

I'll go one step further and say that not only is Mao Asada the best stepper among the ladies, but she may even be the best twizzler I've ever seen! Yep!

Arrow I thought that was so sweet when Plushenko said that Mao is #1 for him, and Yagudin said I agree (before praising "the other one" as well). Mao clearly looks up to him, and he seems to think of her as an adorable little sister. Many Hearts

Arrow Ok, I admit it...when I saw the video montage of Shen and Zhao, I couldn't help but think, if Mao and Taka-chan got married, what clips would go into THEIR montage video?! Hell, no! Hell, no!
I know how it would have to start! With the press conference from 2006 Jr. Worlds, where Mao leans over and whispers, "This is like a marriage press conference," and Taka-chan replies, "Shut up!" ROTFLMAO ROTFLMAO

I can tell Plushy really feels like Mao is his younger sister or something. He's so nice to her! Many Hearts

Thanks for the clip, coconut! So cute indeed! Many Hearts

Plushy is indeed like Mao's older brother, and older brothers can be protective of their little sisters...and so suddenly, this silly scene popped into my head! Hell, no!

Backstage at one of the ice shows in Japan, Plushy runs into Taka-chan...

Plush: Taka!
Taka: [surprised] Oh, hi!
Plush: So you are training with Mao now?
Taka: Yes...
Plush: Are you dating?
Taka: Huh? "Dating?"
Plush: You know, is Mao your girlfriend?
Taka: Girlfriend? Oh, GAARUFURENDO! NO!!
Plush: [leans in and says in a serious tone] You know, Mao is like little sister to me, so be nice to her, ok?

Plushy pats Taka-chan on the back and walks away, while Taka-chan just watches him go, stunned and embarrassed.

Then Mao-chan appears.

Mao: There you are, Taka-chan! Let's go---
Taka-chan turns around and sees Mao, looks frightened, and then runs off.

Mao: [confused] --eat yakiniku... where'd he go??

Oh Batsuchan! That fluffy little convo you made made me laugh! lol!

But I seriously love Plushenko and Mao's friendship. And I love how Plushy was quick to proclaim Mao as "No.1" with Yagudin agreeing. (But of course, Yagudin had to say that the "other skater" is good too!)

Agree to. I like Taka and his skating but I don't see him as Mao's BF. I don't think Mao is interested in him (romantically) and I think Taka likes someone sexy like Elene G. Hell, no!

yeah, I also thought Elene is a good choice for Taka. Mao and Taka are like sister and brother.

ehem... ehem... That's another good pairing: Taka and Elene. Reminds me of Kuroki and Tanya in Nodame Cantabile. TakaMao is actually ok for me but it'll be much better if it's MaoSuke. Too sweet! Many Hearts

haha the two 2010 champions from japan are together, lool that would be kind of funny, the media would have alot to write about, especially if mao and daisuke both win thw worldchampionship next year too, they atleast both aim for it...

but you know, which skater I would prefer it would be no one else beside pluschenko, I know it's pretty unrealistic but wouldn't it be nice if mao & pluchy were together, the two 2010 olympic silver medalist... now that I think about it I think the media would also have alot to write if these to were together...

anyway I am soo excitet about mao's new sp and lp I can't wait until the new season beginns, I really want to see how mao is going to do, especially with this monstrous jump layout she is planning to do...
