I have a feeling that Mao will go for the 3Lo-2Lo, since that's the combo she's doing in practices. Her eventual layout will include a 3-3, because I did hear her mention that before.

ETA: Just saw Mao landing the 3F-2T cheers Btw, where's inskate? I was hoping she could give us some technical insight on Mao's jumps now.

Tks Pochi Very Happy I am starting to like Mr. Sato very much

Your welcome, and me too about Sato! cheers
Before NHK, he had told the press that he hasn't actually started giving her advice yet. He said he was still letting her practice freely, while he observes so to grasp and understand what kind of a skater and person she is. I think Sato had been calm while we were all worried and panicking about Mao fixing her jumps. He was never hasty, and knew that although she would not do good in NHK, she will surely improve afterwards I think. And from what Mao's been saying, he was certainly right. Yep!

Every FS fan in Japan knows Sato...he is the great Nobuo Sato afterall. But he rarely comes out in front of the media, so I don't recall seeing him talk or even reading quotes of his words in reliable articles that much. So, I never knew what kind of a person he is. I've often wondered why Takahiko and Yukari sticked with him for so long, without switching to foreign coaches. I'm sure there were plenty of coaches overseas who would've been willing to coach them. Esp, since Yukari was such an eager skater to try new things, to me it seemed kind of strange she went on with Sato. Neutral

But I'm starting to think that maybe...there is something really brilliant about Sato, and that's what makes his students stick to him. I've seen some photos of parties in Yukari's HP before. She and Takahiko seemed so happy in most of them in which they were with Sato. He looked like a grand-dad whom they really love. You can really see that they trust him alot. I think Mao trusts and respects him too by now, so if she does well in TEB, I think we should all be grateful to Sato too. Many specialists have been saying over and over, that it takes years to reform jumps. So if Mao can land even just a few of them in TEB, it would be a miraculously speedy improvement. Smile

Ooooh! And about the layout...if Mao succeeds all those jumps, her winning gold will be promised only with SP! But even if she should change to 3-2, as long as she lands them I still think she'll make 1st place. A stable Mirai with no mistakes and URs would be her only rival IMO. Surprised

Thanks so much for the links and news!

It's so nice and feel safe to see Mao has Sato Sensei at the rink side.
Sato sensei's advise to become MU is very good. This is a Zen word and for this case it can be translated as "think nothing but just concentrate", I guess.
I hope Mao will become MU and keep any anxiety away from her.

Go Go Mao!!! Cheering

Dani-Chan, thanks for posting the layout. Do I even dare to ask what are your sources for all Mao-stuff ? You spoil us with news, videos and photos. You're awesome!

Mao is brave, but that layout made me even more nervous! She probably won't attempt this layout in competition yet, but it looks crazy and amazing at the same time, even if only on paper!

I am joining in the prayer circle . And I will cross my fingers like crazy, I promise!
GO Mao and Taka-chan!

Oh my Taka-chan. No He has no manager? He should have someone to take care of him.
When he forgot his costume before a competition, he went back to hotel to get it. He messed it up he said.

Mao looks good.

Thank you SO MUCH guys for the updates!! Swoon Love love love love the Mao I'm seeing. I don't remember seeing her as relaxed and carefree in her practices as she was here for a very long time.

I'll join in and agree that I absolutely love seeing Sato looking over her skating at the rink side. Warms my heart to see such great talent now considerably well managed. Razz

Here's a vid showing Mao's practice in her SP costume!!! Love the alterations they did on the dress

Thank you for the news, ddmm. Last time, it was only mentioned on hindsight on a tv interview. Now Taka is officially caught on tape. I bet the TV station is gonna replay/recap this every time they introduce Taka to us again. Sweatdrop Sweatdrop Especially if he wins this competition. Laugh

I currently have three links available for today's portion of the competition at the Online Streaming Thread. Don't forget to check them! I love you

http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/city.html?n=195
15:25:00 Pairs Short Program
16:50:00 Men Short Program
18:45:00 Ladies Short Program
20:40:00 Ice Dance Short Dance

Thanks everyone for all the updates and videos! 2ch is flooding like crazy right now with posts so the updates from Twitter are very much appreciated! Yep!

...I'm not going to name where, but I'm slightly irked to see stuff like my streaming tutorials and Pochi-san's translations (as well as translations provided by ontd's wonderful community) being copy-pasta'ed without any credit given - not even a "from the Mao forum" or "found this at ontd." Blegh. At least paraphrase or change some of the content if you aren't going to take the time to give kudos to the original poster! Twisted Evil

ddmm, I thought you were living in France?
Did you move to Japan???
If you are, since the time difference between Paris and Tokyo is 8 hours, and they'll be starting the ladies' SP at 18:45, in Japan it should start around 26:45 which means 2:45am. I'm usually awake at that time, no problem. The mens' SP will start around 24:50 JPN time btw. Anyway, good thing for everyone in Japan that tomorrow is Saturday! cheers
(If I'm wrong about the time, someone plz correct! I'm very much like Nobu when it comes to calculating... Embarassed )

Thank you Yuna fan and polosatik!
I imagined I'd be feeling more worried and just hoping Mao could do at least a little bit better than NHK at this poing, but with all the good info coming in, I can't help getting my hopes up for her winning. Mao must really be in good condition, otherwise she'd never say she's aiming to win. Very Happy

Those without access to IN or skatebuzz have the usual Russian streams to rely on. cat

If I'm not mistaken Russian TV will be splitting up their coverage for TEB between two stations this time, so viewers will have to tune in to НТВ-ПЛЮС Спорт for the first day of competition and the exhibition, while НТВ-ПЛЮС Спорт Онлайн will cover Day 2 (Saturday).

ETA: I'll post the links here as well. Razz

Thank you for the always-helpful-tips on live streaming, clovera. I'm beginning to feel rather spoilt by your prompt posts on technical support. Embarassed Daisies for you
