I'm somewhat new to these forums, so hello! Super excited (and nervous) for men FS and ladies SP. Thank you to everyone who has been kind enough to give we-without-livestream the PBP!!! Life and sanity savers! Smile

Ditto on the rose-bra thing... a friend of mine (similar build to mao) would add such designs to her dresses. she dubbed them 'boobie enhancers'... Personally think the dress looks just fine without!

BTW, does anyone know what Sato-sensei says to Taka right before he starts his SP? Something..."...please. ok?"

Sato Sensei said "Be confident and give a grand performance for the large audience. Get it? Straighten your back and push yourself to the max."

Sato Sensei, please tap on Mao's back too. No one will sue you.

Mao is struggling with lutz ... No
The second report said she didn't practice 3As and instead focused on other jumps.

At 0:24, Mao's flip is beautiful!! She's getting the snap back into her jumps. Her jumps seem to be bigger now, especially the 3L and 3F when done in combination and with good speed. Hang in there, Mao. At a certain point, this effort you are paying will surely pay off.

Like a Star @ heaven http://mainichi.jp/enta/sports/general/news/20101225spn00m050015000c.html

Today, during her FS runthrough, Mao landed her opening 3A.

Like a Star @ heaven http://www.47news.jp/CN/201012/CN2010122501000140.html

In her morning practice today, Mao spent time carefully checking her 3A repeatedly; there were no major mistakes like falling or step-outs.

Hmm...I'm not too sure about the new dress. Razz
As with a lot of other costumes Mao had, I do think it'll look much better in motion though.

I honestly don't recommend it unless you can read Japanese because it goes by very quickly and the thread moves onto the next "part" after 1000 posts making it very hard to follow for non-Japanese folks. There were over 8 "parts" (so over 8000 posts total) yesterday just for the men, so I can say with confidence that it'll be even more frantic today for the ladies. Sweatdrop

sportsnavi results page for the Ladies is up! (in Japanese)

You can also check twitter using #figureskating and/or #figureskate.
There are people who tweet results in English.
I've never tried though, I think it's possible to read it using translation tool.

Agree. Good dress but it would be perfect without the rose-bra.
It seems she really likes bra design Neutral

Her costume was getting better this season and now this... Faint2
Well, as a woman, I can surely understand why Mao or her designer thinks she should have some 'volume' around her bust one way or the other. Rolling Eyes

But these roses are just too much. They didn't have to decorate them in the shape of a bra.
If I were the designer, I would've taken off the roses around the bust, and simply add chest pads inside (not too big for everyone to notice they're pads though!). The black lace material in the upper body is beautiful the way it is, and the rose at her hip would stand out more if it was the only one. I think they should've used a more deeper red too.

But I bet you, it was Mao who wanted something red in her new SP costume. It's supposed to be her lucky color. Smile

Btw guys, I found out that except for areas around Tokyo, Fuji TV had only 1 hour listed in the tv guides for mens' SP yesterday. So, most people in Japan watched the competition from 20:00, unlike me who watched that trivia quizz from 19:00 thinking they'd air the competition any minute. But as for ladies' SP tonight, it seems they have the competition broadcast listed for 2 hrs from 19:00 in all areas. This means, there's a chance we won't be bothered by fluffs and trivias tonight, and they might air much more performances than mens'. It seems our whole country has been tweeting in rage towards Fuji's way of broadcasting last night, they might try to do better this time. And they'd better stop shooting the skaters from the ceiling, too. Evil or Very Mad

I have to agree with most of you, the dress would have been better without those roses...there. These roses somewhat remind me of her previous Bells costume...and it was not a good memory on my part.

She would've just gone for a sleeveless costume, IMO. Sad
